MRT and bus disruptions, EZ-Link top-ups and ERP 2.0 toll alerts: mobility notifications across Singapore

Several million commuters use the SMRT and SBS Transit MRT lines and the public bus network across Singapore every day, while the Land Transport Authority is rolling out ERP 2.0, the next-generation distance-based electronic road pricing system. 4notify integrates with the LTA DataMall feed, the TransitLink ledger and the ERP 2.0 back-end and delivers disruption alerts, EZ-Link top-up reminders and toll notifications on each commuter's preferred channel.

Preamble

Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Act, the Rapid Transit Systems Act and the regulatory framework of the Land Transport Authority, the present Bulletin is hereby published concerning the delivery of mobility notifications.

Statutory basis
Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276)

Framework for electronic road pricing, including ERP and the ERP 2.0 transition.

Rapid Transit Systems Act

Operating rules and disruption reporting duties for SMRT and SBS Transit rail operators.

Implementation
01

LTA DataMall and operator feeds

4notify subscribes to the LTA DataMall public transport feed and the SMRT / SBS Transit disruption streams; customer-side latency under 90 seconds.

02

Route preference capture

Each commuter saves a line (e.g. 'East-West Line') or a station pair; only relevant disruption alerts are delivered.

03

EZ-Link top-up reminders

Low-balance reminders on EZ-Link and TransitLink wallets, with a deep link into the SimplyGo app for top-up.

04

ERP 2.0 toll notifications

Distance-based and gantry-based charges from ERP 2.0 are delivered end-of-day, with a low-balance pre-warning where the OBU signals it.

The 4notify difference

4notify is the only A2P provider that unifies LTA DataMall, the SMRT and SBS Transit disruption feeds and the ERP 2.0 back-end into one canonical envelope, with per-commuter line and station preferences.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly do disruption alerts reach the commuter?

From the DataMall feed to the commuter's handset, P50 is under 90 seconds; operator-direct feeds can be slower because the originating system is the bottleneck.

Can I subscribe to ERP 2.0 alerts without owning the vehicle?

Yes — fleets and lessors subscribe by vehicle plate; individual commuters subscribe under their own plate. The OBU pairing happens at the LTA side.
