Placement, admission and bursary: delivery to the Kenyan student via KUCCPS, universities and HELB

Each year, hundreds of thousands of Kenyan students are placed into higher education through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Universities and HELB manage admission, hostels and a substantial loans-and-bursary system. 4notify delivers placement results, admission notices and HELB reminders by SMS, push and email.

Preamble

Section 1 — IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by the Universities Act, 2012 and the Higher Education Loans Board Act (Cap. 213A), this Gazette Notice is issued concerning the delivery of higher-education notices.

4notify receives placement events from KUCCPS and the universities; result, admission and hostel allocation are normalised.

Dual-channel delivery for critical decisions

Results day: push (immediate) + SMS (2-min fallback) + email (5-min fallback).

HELB reminder

HELB loan and bursary milestones are reminded at the start of the disbursement window; hostel allocation accepted by QR code.
