Lagos BRT, the Cowry card and LAMATA: mobility notices for the megacity commuter
Millions of Lagosians ride the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors every day, tap the Cowry contactless card to pay, and depend on the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to keep the network moving. 4notify integrates with the LAMATA feed and the Cowry card platform and delivers disruption and low-balance notices to the commuter's preferred channel.
Section 1 — In exercise of the powers conferred by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Law and the operating agreements of the Bus Rapid Transit corridors, this Gazette is issued concerning the delivery of mobility notices.
Operator duty to notify card-holders of balance, top-up and fare events.
LAMATA feed subscription
4notify subscribes to the LAMATA mobility feed and the BRT corridor status; commuter latency under 90 seconds.
Corridor / stop preference
The commuter saves a corridor (e.g. "Ikorodu–TBS BRT") or a stop pair and only receives the disruptions that affect them.
Cowry low-balance reminder
Card-holders with a registered Cowry card receive an end-of-day reminder when the balance is low or auto-top-up failed.

How fast do disruption notices arrive?
From the LAMATA feed to the commuter's phone the P50 is under 90 seconds; the upstream feed itself can be slower depending on the source.
Can a fleet subscribe to Cowry alerts without owning the card?
Yes — corporate fleets and operators subscribe by registered card; individual commuters by their own Cowry card.
