Irish Rail disruption, Luas service, TFI Leap Card top-ups and eFlow M50 toll notices

Hundreds of thousands of commuters use Irish public transport every day: Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), the Luas tram network, the TFI Leap Card and the barrier-free eFlow M50 toll. 4notify integrates with the National Transport Authority feeds, Irish Rail, Luas and eFlow, and delivers disruption and toll notices to the customer's preferred channel.

PushSMSEmail
Preamble

Item 7 — Pursuant to the Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act 2001 and the Roads Act 1993 (tolling provisions), this Annal is recorded concerning the delivery of transport notices.

Statutory Basis
Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act 2001

Framework for the Luas and rail infrastructure; passenger information duties.

Roads Act 1993 (tolling) / eFlow scheme

Barrier-free tolling on the M50; obligation to pay by 8pm the next day and notice of unpaid tolls.

Implementation
01

NTA feed + Irish Rail subscription

4notify subscribes to the National Transport Authority feeds and Irish Rail information; customer latency under 90 seconds.

02

Line / stop preference

Customers save a line (e.g. "Luas Green Line") or a stop pair; only relevant disruptions are sent.

03

eFlow M50 toll reminder

Registered vehicles receive an end-of-day reminder if a toll is unpaid before the 8pm deadline, avoiding penalty escalation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast are disruption alerts?

From the NTA / Irish Rail source to the customer's phone, P50 latency is under 90 seconds; upstream feed delays can extend this.

Can eFlow alerts be set up without owning the vehicle?

Yes — fleet operators and car-hire firms subscribe by registration plate; individual customers use their own plate.
