gov.il, the smart identity card and one-time-code delivery to the Israeli citizen

The gov.il portal concentrates the services of the Israeli state, and the smart identity card (the biometric Teudat Zehut) underpins the digital identity of millions of citizens. 4notify integrates with the digital-government notification infrastructure and delivers appointment reminders, process notices and one-time codes, with masking of the identity number.

4notify integrates with the digital-government notification gateway; quarterly penetration testing.

Identity-number masking

The delivery envelope carries the identity number only as a hash (SHA-256 + salt); the cleartext number stays in the institutional system.

Three-channel cascade

Process ready → push (60s) → SMS (2 min) → email (5 min); the citizen's preference lives in their gov.il profile.

One-time-code delivery

gov.il and smart-ID OTPs are delivered within a 60-second window; if the SMS fails, email is the fallback.
