Mandatory receipt of public sea warning.
Sea warnings and coastal signals: Kystverket, lighthouses and navigation status
Norway has 100,000+ km of coastline (including fjords and islands). Kystverket and the Meteorological Institute issue continuous sea warnings. 4notify integrates these for fisheries (>5,500 fishing vessels), freight ships and pleasure craft with satellite fallback for open seas.
A missed weather warning can mean loss of vessel and crew. Traditional VHF broadcasts don't reach all small vessels without dedicated radio operator.
International framework for weather and navigation warning.
Kystverket API webhook
Kystverket issues events for navtex, VHF warnings, lighthouse status.
Geographic filtering per zone
Vessels subscribe to sea zones relevant to their route.
Satellite fallback
Inmarsat / Iridium routing for vessels out of mobile coverage.
